Unsaturated fat意思
"Unsaturated fat" is a type of dietary fat that contains at least one double bond in the carbon chain of its fatty acid molecules. Unsaturated fats are further classified into two main types: monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) and polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs), depending on whether they have one or more than one double bond, respectively.
Monounsaturated fats typically have one double bond and are usually liquid at room temperature. They are often found in olive oil, canola oil, avocados, and nuts. Polyunsaturated fats have multiple double bonds and are also liquid at room temperature. They are commonly found in vegetable oils such as corn oil, soybean oil, and fish oils.
In contrast, "saturated fat" is a type of fat that contains no double bonds in the carbon chain of its fatty acid molecules. Saturated fats are typically solid at room temperature and are found in animal products like meat and dairy, as well as some tropical oils like coconut oil and palm oil.
Both unsaturated and saturated fats are important components of a healthy diet, but the dietary guidelines often recommend consuming a higher proportion of unsaturated fats and a lower proportion of saturated fats to promote heart health and manage cholesterol levels.
