Sicca syndrome, also known as Sjögren's syndrome, is an autoimmune disorder that affects the moisture-producing glands of the body, particularly the salivary and lacrimal (tear) glands. This results in symptoms such as dry mouth and dry eyes. It can also affect other organs and tissues, including the skin, lungs, kidneys, and nervous system. Sjögren's syndrome can occur on its own or in combination with other autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.
