Heliosphere意思

Heliosphere is the region of space dominated by the Sun's solar wind, a stream of charged particles that emanate from the Sun. It extends outward from the Sun and encompasses the solar system. The boundary of the heliosphere, called the heliopause, is where the solar wind meets the interstellar medium (the gas and dust that pervade the galaxy) and is stopped. Beyond the heliopause is the interstellar space. The heliosphere helps to protect the solar system from some of the cosmic rays and other interstellar debris.
