"Distillation" is a process in which a liquid is converted into vapor and then condensed back into liquid form, thus separating it from other substances with which it is mixed. This process is often used to purify a substance or to separate a volatile component from a non-volatile one. In chemistry and physics, distillation is a method of separating mixtures based on differences in boiling points.
