Carrier wave意思
"Carrier wave" is a term used in telecommunications and electronics, particularly in the context of modulation and demodulation. A carrier wave is a high-frequency sinusoidal signal that is used as a base signal for adding information. The information, such as audio, video, or data, is superimposed onto the carrier wave by a process called modulation. The resulting signal, which contains the original information, is then transmitted over a communication channel.
There are three main types of modulation:
-
Amplitude Modulation (AM): In AM, the amplitude of the carrier wave is varied in proportion to the information signal.
-
Frequency Modulation (FM): In FM, the frequency of the carrier wave is varied in proportion to the information signal.
-
Phase Modulation (PM): In PM, the phase of the carrier wave is varied in proportion to the information signal.
At the receiving end, the process of removing the information from the carrier wave is called demodulation. The demodulator separates the information from the carrier wave, allowing the original signal to be recovered.
The use of a carrier wave allows for the transmission of information over long distances and through various media, such as radio waves, television signals, and telecommunications networks.
