Third inning意思
"Third inning" is a term used in baseball to refer to the third segment or period of play in a game. A baseball game is divided into innings, and each inning is typically divided into two halves: the top half and the bottom half. The third inning is the period of play that follows the second inning and precedes the fourth inning.
During the third inning, the visiting team (the team that is away from its home field for the game) bats in the top half of the inning, while the home team bats in the bottom half. The inning ends when three outs have been recorded for each team, and then the game progresses to the fourth inning.
Innings are crucial parts of a baseball game, as they determine when teams switch between batting and fielding, and they also help to structure the flow of the game. Each inning presents opportunities for teams to score runs and gain an advantage over their opponents.
