Secularism意思

Secularism is a principle or system of belief according to which religion and the state or religion and government should be kept separate. It is the idea that government should remain neutral on matters of religion, and that religion should not influence the operations of government. Secularism does not advocate for the absence of religion, but rather for the freedom of religion or the freedom from religion. It supports the idea that individuals should have the right to practice their own religion or belief, or to practice no religion at all, without fear of discrimination or persecution.
