Investment casting意思
Investment casting, also known as lost-wax casting, is a manufacturing process used to produce metal parts by pouring molten metal into a mold. The process involves creating a wax pattern of the desired part, which is then surrounded by a refractory material such as ceramic to create a mold. The mold is heated, causing the wax to melt and be removed (the "lost wax" process), leaving a hollow cavity in the shape of the part. Molten metal is then poured into the cavity, and after it cools and solidifies, the ceramic mold is broken away to reveal the finished metal part.
Investment casting is used to produce complex shapes with high precision and excellent surface finish. It is commonly used in the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries to manufacture parts such as turbine blades, jewelry, and precision components.
