Hydronium ion意思

Hydronium ion (H3O+) is the common form of a hydrogen ion (H+) when it is dissolved in water (H2O). It is also known as the oxonium ion. When a water molecule loses a proton (H+), it becomes hydroxide (OH-) and when a water molecule gains a proton, it becomes hydronium. The hydronium ion is important in acid-base chemistry, as it is the form in which acids dissociate in water to produce H+ ions.
