Free on rail意思
"Free on rail" (F.O.R.) is a term used in the context of freight transportation, particularly in the United States. It refers to a shipment where the shipper pays for the goods to be delivered to a rail terminal, but the consignee (the person receiving the goods) is responsible for picking up the shipment from the rail terminal and paying for the inland freight charges from that point onwards.
In other words, the shipper pays for the transportation of the goods up to the rail terminal, and from there, the responsibility and the cost of transportation to the final destination are on the consignee. This term is used in contracts and shipping documents to clarify the responsibilities and costs associated with the transportation of goods by rail.
