Diyas意思

"Diya" or "diyas" (plural form) is a Hindi word that refers to oil lamps typically made from clay, used in India and other South Asian countries for various religious and cultural ceremonies. These lamps are usually filled with oil, such as sesame oil, and a cotton wick is placed in them. The lit diyas are believed to dispel darkness and ignorance, and to invite knowledge, wisdom, and the blessings of the deities.

Diya lamps are an integral part of Hindu festivals like Diwali, the festival of lights, where they are lit to signify victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. They are also used during puja (worship), weddings, and other auspicious occasions. The act of lighting diyas is considered a sacred ritual, and it is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to the home and its inhabitants.
