Burj khalifa意思
"Burj Khalifa" is the name of the world's tallest building, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The name "Burj Khalifa" is a combination of two words:
- "Burj" (برج) in Arabic means "tower."
- "Khalifa" (خليفة) is an Arabic name that means "successor" or "leader." It is also the surname of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates.
The building was originally named "Burj Dubai" during its construction but was renamed "Burj Khalifa" in honor of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan shortly before its inauguration in 2010. The renaming was seen as a gesture of appreciation from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, to Sheikh Khalifa for his leadership and contributions to the UAE.
The Burj Khalifa stands at 828 meters (2,716.5 feet) tall, including the antenna, and has 163 floors. It is a major landmark of Dubai and a popular tourist attraction, offering observation decks with panoramic views of the city and the surrounding desert.
