映襯法的意思

映襯法（Antithesis）是一種修辭手法，透過將兩個對立的概念或元素並列在一起，形成強烈的對比，從而加強語氣和表達力。這種手法通常用於強調論點、表達強烈的情感或製造深刻的印象。

在英語中，映襯法通常涉及使用對偶詞（如：光明與黑暗、愛與恨、生與死等）或相反的概念來形成對比。例如：

"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." - John F. Kennedy （不要問你的國家能為你做什麼，而要問你能為你的國家做什麼。）

這句話中，"what your country can do for you"與"what you can do for your country"形成了映襯，強調了個人對國家的責任和奉獻。

另一個例子：

"The young do not know enough to be prudent, and the old do not have the strength to be reckless." （年輕人不知道足夠多的事情來保持謹慎，老年人沒有足夠的力量來冒險。）
